We're excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to select the phone number from which you send SMS messages!
Whats New? 👀
Previously, all SMS messages were sent from a default number when communicating with contacts. Now, you can choose the phone number you want to send the message from. If a contact has multiple phone numbers, you can also select the specific contact's number to send the message. Businesses operating in multiple countries or those using different numbers for specific purposes, can select the appropriate number for each interaction. This helps to increase response rates, enhance trust and streamline communication based on the context of the message.
Key Features: 💫
Select the sending number:
While sending SMS, you can now select the number you want to send the message from.
The “From” number dropdown will list all available numbers, making it easy to switch between them as needed.
Tags indicating the default number and the last used number are shown next to each option.
Below each number, the friendly name and the assigned user are displayed.
By default, the last used number for the contact is automatically selected. If there is no previous conversation, default number will be selected.
Select recipient's number:
If the contact has multiple numbers, click on the dropdown next to the To field and select the appropriate recipient number for the message. If there is no previous conversation, primary contact number will be selected by default.
Access:
Admins can access all the numbers configured in the account.
Users can access: default number, number assigned to the specific user, unassigned numbers and the last used number to message the contact.
How This Helps: 🚀
Better Control:
Choose the phone number that makes the most sense for each communication, whether you're dealing with different departments, services, or teams.
Clearer Communication:
Avoid confusion by sending SMS messages from the right number for each contact.
Improve Response Rate and Trust:
Selecting local numbers for each region’s SMS communication can increase recipient trust and improve response rates.

- This feature can currently be accessed via Labs.
